About Ms. Sarah

I have always loved kids!  I begged my mom for my "babysitting license" when I was 12 and have worked with kids ever since.  For a while, I was a nanny and then I worked as an assistant in a Pediatric Therapy office, offering help to children receiving Occupational, Physical, or Speech Therapy.

In 2007, I graduated from CSUMB with a Multiple Subject Teaching Credential and an ESOL Certification.  I have taught many ages and subjects since then, but my favorite grades have always been the lower grades.  It is such an amazing experience to watch children go from barely recognizing letters to reading words, from saying their numbers to doing addition problems!

Something I really love now, too, is that my son is also in first grade!  So, rest-assured parents: I do truly understand the boat you are in!

Upcoming classroom events:

We will be doing a weekly sharing time, with objects from home that are in alphabetical order (see below).  There is no pressure to bring an item if a child doesn't want to share, however, I encourage it because it works on very important social and speaking skills.  To begin the schedule will be:

Letter E: November 6

Letter F: November 13

Letter G: November 20

No School November 27th

As your child's teacher, I always promise to:

  • Offer Open Communication
  • Be Encouraging
  • Inspire a Love of Learning!
