About Me

Headshot of Kristin Bedell
My name is Kristin Bedell. This is my sixth year as the AIG teacher for Efland-Cheeks Elementary School. I am also a Kenan Fellow for 2013-2014. I have taught AIG/8th grade in Orange County at A. L. Stanback Middle School, 5th grade in Chapel Hill-Carrboro, and 4th grade in Alamance-Burlington Schools. I have also worked in high school and have even taught college. Prior to teaching, I worked as a freelance costumer and a milliner. You can read my resume by clicking HERE.

Outside of school, I live in Efland with my husband, our 3 children, and our pets (1 cat, and 1 snake). I like to read, sew, build robots, listen to music, and learn new things. Our family likes to spend a lot of our time together being active, including running, hiking, and paddling. Until this year, I played ice hockey as well. When we aren't playing,  my family can often be found gathered on the couch watching our favorite sports team, the Carolina Hurricanes. (Go 'Canes!)

I'm looking forward to working with each of my students to discover and nurture interests and passions as we learn more about our exciting, changing world. Feel free to contact me with any questions or comments you might have. I can be reached via email at kristin.bedell@orange.k12.nc.us or telephone at 919-563-5112x42900. I try to return emails within one business day and phone calls within two days. However, I know that my email has gone AWOL from time to time, so if you send me an email and do not hear back within 2 business days, please drop me a line and let me know.
