I received my B.S. in Business Administration from the University at Buffalo in 1997 and began my professional career in the field of Management Information Systems. Although I loved computers (and still do!), I quickly figured out that this career field wasn't for me and switched gears. I began my career in education at Bryant and Stratton College.  During my career there, I worked as an adjunct instructor, Academic Advisor and, eventually, an Associate Dean. Through the work I did there, I figured out that teaching was my passion! So, I returned to college and obtained my teaching certificate from Buffalo State College in 1999 and my Master's degree from Canisius College in 2001. My teacher certifications are in business and elementary education. I starting working as a high school business teacher at my alma mater, Hamburg High School, in 1999. One year later I made the move to Orchard Park High School.

I currently teach Principles of Marketing and Career & Financial Management. I also serve as the high school’s Work-Based Learning Coordinator and my department’s Instructional Leader.  As a former DECA member, I know the positive influence that co-curricular activities can provide for students both inside and outside of school.  One of my favorite parts of my job is being a co-adviser for Orchard Park DECA.  I also currently serve on the NYDECA Board of Trustees.

As business educators, I believe connecting the classroom to the “real world” is our most important and rewarding task. In addition to the opportunities I provide my students though DECA, I also co-advise the Quaker Corner school store, help in planning mock interview programs, and work closely with our Academy of Finance to bridge the gap between business and education.

Outside of school, I enjoy spending time with my husband and sons, who both attend OP schools.  We love reading, the beach, and especially going camping...the Adirondaks is one of our favorite regions!
