Protei was very honored and happy to participate to the 5th World Robotic Sailing Championships and International Robotic Sailing Conference at Cardiff Bay Yacht Club. Etienne Gernez and Arnaud Le Breton met with the world´s best competitors in autonomous sailing, who showed and shared their latest progress. Many talented students were attending too, as well as Protei 6.0 mechanical designer Quiyang Zhou himself, what a nice surprise!
Thanks to the organizers of the conference, Dr. Colin Sauze and his team, all the videos from the boat highlights, conference talks, hacker challenge talks and from the GoPro embarked camera are available on the conference Youtube account - https://www.youtube.com/user/wrsc2012.
More resources are available from the conference google plus page - https://plus.google.com/u/0/b/113693295222279641395/photos/113693295222279641395/albums and more (GPS tracks, data measured by some boats) will be uploaded soon.
Finally, and important!
If you any of you would like to make a small voluntary contribution to help fund this conference and the coming ones, then could you please donate to the CrowdFunder campaign at http://www.crowdfunder.co.uk/investment/world-robotic-sailing-chamionships-2012-1133.
Next year Protei will definitely come back, the conference will be organized in France by Prof Luc Jaulin from the VAIMOS team, which showed very impressive results!
