Mr. Solomon graduated from the United States Military Academy at West Point in 1987 and spent the next five years serving as an Active Duty Infantry Officer. His first duty station was Fort Lewis, WA, and he fell in love with the Pacific Northwest. He left Active Duty to pursue a teaching career, earning a Masters degree from the University of Puget Sound in 1993, but continued his service in the Army Reserve. He spent 19 years teaching Second Grade at the Annie Wright School in Tacoma, deployed to Afghanistan, immediately followed by a tour in Saudi Arabia, and taught Kindergarten last year in the Auburn School District.
Mr. Solomon has lived in Tacoma, Seattle, Aberdeen, Auburn, and now Onalaska. He grew up in a small community in New York State.
He enjoys learning new things, and has a wide variety of interests.
