Math 7 Honors Eligibility Lists
November Math iReady assessment and/or the 6th grade Math SBAC scores are used to check the students eligible to be placed in Math 7 Honors for second semester (or third trimester for K-8 school sites):
In order to meet eligibility criteria for Math 7 Honors, students must have scored ‘mid’ or ‘above’ grade level on the most recent math iReady and/or have a score of ‘Exceeded’ on the 6th grade Math SBAC.
Current Math 7H Students Meeting SBA/i-Ready Criteria - Recommend keeping rostered for the next term
Math 7H Students Not Meeting Criteria - Determine if the student should remain in Math 7H or moved to Math 7 course by the next term
Math 7 Students that are Eligible for Math 7H - Consider moving to Math 7H for the next term
With school site discretion, specific students who scored ‘early on’ grade level on the October/November Math iReady may be considered for Math 7H placement if they have a ‘B’ or better grade in first semester Math 7 and their teacher provides verbal recommendation for Math 7H placement.
NOTE: Math 7 Honors is one of the prerequisites for students to apply for Integrated Math I for High School Credit course for their 8th grade year.
Grades: Please continue to regularly monitor grades of students enrolled in HSCP courses.
· Verify that all students with grades of ‘D’ or ‘F’ have been placed in an alternate class for the remainder of semester one (or trimester two for K-8 sites).
· If remaining students’ grades drop to ‘D’ or ‘F’, intervention and parent contact should occur.
· HSCP course grades will become part of the student’s high school transcript and could later impact college acceptance.
