It's very interesting to see where our members are coming from in the Omaha/Metro area to be a part of this Bee Club.
We have members in Papillion, Ralston, Bellevue, South Omaha, Florence and Mid-town. We kind of expected that though.
What we didn't expect was to have members come all the way from out near Gretna, from Nebraska City and Beatrice.
That's right, some of our members come a very long way to be a part of this Bee Club here in Omaha. That's one reason this website is here now, to provide more usability for those far flung members of ours. It's also one of the reasons the facebook page was set up as well.
I, for one, am so very glad to have these people come so far to be a part of our Bee Club. It is a testament to the idea that as beekeepers, we want to share our experiences with others and be a part of a unique community centered around this peculiar fascination we all have for stinging insects.
We try to see to it that our meetings are informative, productive and perhaps maybe most important, fun to be at.
I like to think that even if we did charge a membership fee, our members would feel that they are getting their money's worth and more to keep coming back and being a part of things.
So, to all our Bee Club members, both near and far, we hope this finds you and your bees doing well and hope to see you at the next Bee Club meeting in March.
