Pre-K3 Classroom News

The month of May 2017
  • June 7th is the last day of school for Pre-K3.  Please arrive at 9am for our Play Date.  We will end at 10am and your children will be dismissed with you at 10am. 
  • End of the School year money is due June 2nd.  
  • Since we will be going outside on most days, please send your child in with sunscreen on and an extra water!  If you'd like to keep sunscreen in the class until the end of the year, please label it and we will reapply it!
  • We will work on line tracing to develop our fine motor skills and begin the writing process (holding the instrument the proper way, top to bottom, left to right...we will be working on this until the end of the year)
  • We will be reviewing the colors and shapes.
  • We will be going to the playground on nice days.  Please dress your child accordingly.  Please remember to label all hats etc.

Just a few reminders for the end of the School year:


June 6th - Children will bring their extra clothes and blankets home today.

June 7th - Last Day of School!  The playdate begins at 9am (not 8:30am).  This is for both the children and the parents from 9am-10am.  We will have snacks, some play time, and the children will receive their Pre-K3 Certificates!  The day ends at 10 am and the children will be dismissed at 10am.  School is over for Pre-K3 at 10am. (There is NO Before Care of After Care for Pre-K3 this day!)


**WE ARE A NUT-FREE CLASSROOM!  PLEASE DO NO SEND IN ANY SNACKS OR LUNCHES THAT CONTAIN PEANUTS OR TREE NUTS!!**

Important Dates


June 7th -Play date 9am -10am -This is the last day of school for us! The children will have some time to play, eat some snacks and receive their certificates!  The day ends at 10am!

Yearly info


  • Mrs. Dowd will be at the front door at 8:25am.  Please do not ring the bell before that time.  
  • Half day students need to be picked up at 11:30am.  Again, Mrs. Dowd will be at the door by 11:25am to let you into the school.
  • Full day students are dismissed between 2:15 and 2:30.  Parents may park behind the school for afternoon pick up ONLY and knock on the side door to the classroom.  
  • Please be sure to send in a healthy snack with a drink for both half day and full day students for snack time.  
  • Full day students will need their full lunch and a blanket for rest time.
  • No toys should be brought to school - we have plenty to play with!  The children will have multiple opportunities throughout the year to bring in something for Show and Tell.
  • If your child is a full day student, they may bring in a movie for rest time.  Please be sure to label the movie with your child's name. 
  • If you would like to purchase the school lunch for your child, the orders must be in by THURSDAY for the following week.  Lunches cannot be ordered on a day to day basis.   
  • Please do not send your child in with flip flops or sandals for safety purposes.  Also, have them dressed for success (they get frustrated if they cannot close their buttons/zippers/snaps, etc.)!
  • If you would like to celebrate your child's birthday in class, you may send in nut- free treats for the class.  We currently have 10 students in the class.  Please let me know when you would like to celebrate!

Pre-K3 Curriculum

This program is designed for the three-year-old who is ready to learn interaction an socialization skills.  It is a hands-on approach to learning with an emphasis on multi-sensory activities and theme teaching.  Some of the activities included in the program are:
  • Arts and Crafts
  • Creative Play time
  • Learning Circle Time
  • Music and Motion
  • Number and Color concepts
  • Letter Recognition
  • Playground/Gross Motor Skills
  • School Readiness Skills
