We had the honor of going to a very special first birthday party this weekend. Harper turns one this month!! Harper is an awesome little fighter and stayed awake for his entire party, we even got a few smiles out of him!!! :) He loved all his presents and loved the attention too. He got cake and lots of icing too. His theme was Dr. Seuss, he responds well when his family reads Dr. Seuss books for him, so of course they had to have that as the theme :) I even found a Happy Birthday To You book by Dr. Seuss!! I love it! Now I want one for myself too. Happy Birthday to Harper, we love you! We continue to pray for you.
I know many families have big first birthday bashes, so it may be just another birthday party to some, but for Harper and the other children with Ohtahara Syndrome, it is a big deal for a much greater reason. Milestones like a first birthday, reaching out to touch something, a taste of food, and yes, even a smile, is such a joy and blessing. So when we celebrate these milestones, we rejoice for so many more reasons. Praise God that some of these children meet these milestones!
Party Guests! :)
