U.Va. Summer Enrichment Program 2018

posted Jan 29, 2018, 8:51 AM by Tammy Graves

This program is a residential summer camp here on Grounds of the University of Virginia, serving students currently in grades 4 through 10.

This year, Session 1 is June 17-28, Session 2 is July 1-12, and Session 3 is July 15-26, 2017. Students attend only one session each summer.  Quality learning experiences  are designed to cultivate interest and potential in a wide variety of fields and disciplines. Students thrive on the fast-paced environment of the classes and the stimulating fun offered by the residential counselors. Qualifying students should be identified as gifted or show high potential in academic fields or intellectual, creative, artistic and/or leadership capacities.Summer courses are taught by specialists in fields ranging from engineering and economics to linguistics and philosophy. During each twelve day session, students stay in dorms, in suites of 8 campers to one counselor, and enjoy the on Grounds experience at Thomas Jefferson’s University of Virginia. This coming summer will be our 40th season.

Applications are available online at
Paper copies of the application are available from Mrs. Graves in room 202B.

Destination Imagination Coaches Needed

posted Sep 28, 2017, 3:44 AM by Tammy Graves

Call for Destination Imagination Coaches

It is time to form Destination Imagination Teams for the 2017-2018 year. This year, I will start with coaches and then I will check with team members from last year and see if they are interested in participating in DI again. Once I have checked with them, I will open it up to others. I will not be able to form any teams until we have coaches in place. Great Teams start with Great Coaches!

Coach Commitments:

  • Willing to meet with a team of 2-7 students weekly (I can provide a space for you to meet.)

  • Willing to attend a training meeting (Orange or Charlottesville- your choice)

  • Willing to attend the Regional Tournament at Monticello High School on February 17

If you are interested in being a DI team manager or have any questions, please contact Mrs. Graves at or call 540-661-4400 (ext. 2204) by October 6th.
