You can edit your default notifications for both regular events and all-day events. You can also choose to be notified with device notifications, emails, or both.

Change your notification settings

  1. Open the Google Calendar app .
  2. In the top left, touch Menu  > Settings.
  3. Choose one of your calendars, like Events.
  4. To change or remove a notification, touch it or touch Add another notification.

Your changes sync with your computer notifications. For example, if you chose "60 minutes before" on your phone, you'll get a pop-up notification on your computer 60 minutes before your event.

Sound and vibrate settings

  1. Open the Settings app on your iPhone .
  2. Touch Notifications.
  3. Scroll down and select Google Calendar.
  4. Adjust your notification settings

  1. Open Google Calendar on your computer.
  2. In the top right, click Settings settings gear button > Settings.
  3. At the top of the page, click the Calendars tab.
  4. Next to your calendar's name, click Edit notifications.
  5. To edit a notification, click on it or add another notification.

Notes

  • To get notifications on your computer, you need to have Google Calendar open in your browser.
  • The changes you make on your computer also affect your mobile notifications. For example, if you chose a pop-up notification for 60 minutes before on your computer, you'll get a notification on your phone 60 minutes before your event.

More notification options

  • Email updates – Get notifications about event invitations, like when someone responds to your invite.
  • Daily agenda - Get a schedule of your day's events around 5 AM local time.
  • Gentle notifications – If you don't want pop-up calendar interruptions, you can turn on the "Gentle notifications" feature in Calendar Labs.
