Lord of the Flies by William Golding (Fiction)

The Great Gatsby by F. Scott Fitzgerald (Fiction)

The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Nighttime by Mark Haddon (Fiction)

Glass Castle by Jeannette Walls (Non-Fiction)

Macbeth by William Shakespeare (Drama)

You are required to submit your TOP 3 choices by Thursday, March 29.  A Google Form will be sent to you on Monday, March 26th.

It is highly recommended that you choose novels that really interest you, regardless of page numbers, time period, or popularity. This is your Independent Study and RST, so choose something you will really want to read.

You will learn which novel you have been assigned on Friday, April 6th.


The RST will be introduced on Tuesday, May 22nd.  It is imperative that you have completed reading your Independent Study novel before this date.

RST Work Periods:  Tuesday, May 22, 2018- Tuesday, May 29, 2018

RST Due: On or before Wednesday, May 30, 2018

The RST instructions for 2018 will be given in class on Tuesday, May 22.  The RST is worth 10% of your final grade.
