May 2011 - Oceania WC Qualification Tournament

Oceania Region Women's World Championship Qualifying Tournament
The Oceania Region Qualifying Tournament for the XX Women's World Championship will be held during 28 - 29 May 2011 in Wellington, New Zealand.

Australia and New Zealand will compete in the tournament, with matches being held at 5 p.m. on 28th and 29th May, 2011 at the Te Rauparaha Arena, Porirua.

The winning team in the qualifying tournament will represent Oceania Region in the World Championship to be held in Brazil during 3 – 16 December 2011.

The Oceania Handball Federation wishes all the players and officials a memorable and successful participation in the Oceania Region Women’s Handball World Championship Qualifying Tournament.

Results Update:
The Australian Women’s Team won the Oceania Region Qualifying Tournament for the Women’s Handball World Championship held in Wellington, New Zealand during 28-29 May 2011.

The match scores are as follows:

First Match        New Zealand 13 [5] : Australia 22 [11]
Second Match    Australia 25 [11] : New Zealand 15 [7]

The Australian Women’s Team therefore will represent the Oceania Region in the XX Women’s Handball World Championship to be held in Brazil in December 2011.
