Co-Director, Choreographer- Lynette Werthwein

Lynette Werthwein began her training in dance and theater in southern NJ. She continued her education at the University of the Arts, East Carolina University, The University of North Carolina School of the Arts and Montclair State University. She has her BA in English, a minor in dance and a Masters in Teaching degree. She was a company member in several ballet and modern dance companies such as; East Carolina Dance Ensemble, Atlantic Contemporary Ballet and NJ Coastal Ballet. She was a guest artist for the Goldsboro Ballet where she was a principal dancer. Lynette has traveled throughout the east coast and spent time living in Brazil to compete and perform in  the Festival de Danca. She was a faculty member for Tenafly School of the Arts, Encore Dance Academy and New Jersey Dance Center where she taught ballet, jazz and musical theater. Her love for musical theater came from being part of several productions behind the scenes as a dance captain, choreographer as well as being on the stage. Her favorite theatrical credits include Grease (Sandy), West Side Story (Rosalia), Hello Dolly (Irene Molloy), Pippin (Catherine),  and Little Shop of Horrors (Audrey). Lynette has been part of the Spartan Players since 2009 and is thrilled to continue to direct the musicals.

 Instrumental Director- Kyle Titmas 
Mr. Titmas is an Ocean Township High School alumni. After high school, he attended Monmouth University where he earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Music and Education with a minor in Information Technology. He is currently working on a Ma
ster’s Degree in Music Education from University of the Arts. He has been teaching full-time at OTHS since 2012 where he directs all the instrumental ensembles: Concert Band, Marching Band, Jazz Band, Pep Band, and of course, Pit Band. He also played various performances for student recitals at Monmouth and in his own band at various local venues including The Stone Pony and The Starland Ballroom. Mr. Titmas loves working with Mr. Kerni
zan, Mrs. Werthwein, Ms. Gower, Mr. Ribson, Mr. Zupko, and the Spartan P
layers on their annual spring musical. Directing the pit is an enormous undertaking, but there are such valuable experiences to be gained. So far, Mr. Titmas has been the Instrumental Director for Miss SaigonGodspell, Little Shop of Horrors (Basie Nomination), The Addams Family (Basie Nomination), Pippin (Basie Nomination), and Anything Goes.

Co-Director, Technical Director- Chelsea Gower

Musical Director- Teddy Kernizan
Producer- Alma Garrity
Alma Garrity graduated from Seton Hall University. She teaches English and a film class at OTHS. She produced both fall and spring shows for the Spartan Players since 2013, where she won a Basie Award for her costuming of The Crucible. Mrs. Garrity was also nominated for costumes in 2015 for Brighton Beach Memoirs. Currently, she is in the graduate program for English at Southern New Hampshire University.

Lighting Designer- Devon Ribson
Devon Ribson has always been a fan of Broadway and acting. He is happy to be part of the Spartan Players. He grew up in a musical family, which shaped who is today. Devon writes lyrics occasionally for his love of writing creatively. He graduated OTHS 2011 and Monmouth University 2015 with a degree in English and Creative Writing and Education at the Secondary Level. In completing this degree, he tacked on an ESL endorsement and an IT minor. Devon loves photography and video editing as a hobby.

Technical Director- Robert Zupko

Robert Zupko graduated from TCNJ with a BFA in Graphic Design, and a minor in English. After working for several years as an art director, he decided to attend graduate school at Montclair State University, and graduated with a Masters in Teaching degree. Mr. Zupko has ten years of experience teaching middle school art, and two years of experience at the high school level. Currently, he teaches Digital Photography and Computer Art at Ocean Township High School. 
As for his own  artwork, in addition to enjoying digital photography and digital manipulation.
Mr. Zupko currently is exploring welding, sculpting in concrete, and wood carving.
