Course: U.S. History II and Ancient Civilizations

Course Objective:

8th grade: Students will focus on the events from 1880-post WWII era as well as current events and geography. An emphasis will also be placed on historical thinking skills such as analyzing sources and identifying bias. Students will analyze primary source documents, political cartoons, and complete many group projects. Technology will be used a lot in class.

6th grade: Students will focus on the development of ancient civilizations in Mesopotamia, Egypt, China, India, Greece, Rome, and the Americas as well as current events and geography. An emphasis will also be placed on historical thinking skills such as analyzing sources and identifying bias. Students will analyze primary source documents, political cartoons, and complete many group projects. Technology will be used a lot in class.
