Caribou Trail: History Trip 2016
Italy-Juno 2014

We have finished another successful history trip to Europe. We sent 37 students and 4 staff with 500 Newfoundlanders to Europe in 2016 to remember the sacrifice of the members of the Royal Newfoundland Regiment during the First World War.  We traveled to England, France and Belgium.

Below you will find some pictures of the trip and a video sequence.

We are starting to prepare for our 5th Canadian History trip to Europe for June
25th-July 6th 2016.

This trip is called "The Trail of the Caribou" as we will be following the Royal Newfoundland
 Regiment in World War I.

We will be visiting the 5 Caribous in Europe, highlighting the 100th Anniversary of the Battle of Beaumont-Hamel on July 1, 2016.  We will also be visiting Essex Farm where Colonel John McCrae wrote "Flanders Fields" and visiting Vimy Ridge.

We will be starting in England and then going to Belgium and France. (See the attache
d itinerary below for the full trip.) The information letter for parents/guardians and applications forms are also attached on the bottom of the page.

As with previous trips
we will be participating in a series of events in preparation for the trip.  It is a requirement for the trip that all students who are chosen for the trip attend each of the pre-trip activities.

We again will be looking forward to working wit
h members of our armed forces, embassies, Veterans Affairs, National Archives, the National War Museum and the media in these activities.
