Request for Course Selection Changes for 2021 - 2022

For Semester 1 - We are no longer able to accept course change requests for Semester 1. If you are in grade 12 and are requesting to drop a course, please check in with your Guidance counsellor first to ensure that you have what is needed for graduation.

For Semester 2 - Note that our master timetable was generated based on courses selected in March. At this time, many courses are full and we are only able to process required changes if there is space available possible. These include situations such as when a student has:

  • selected the incorrect pathway (ex. chose applied instead of academic)
  • made an incorrect program choice (ex. chose CHC2D but should have selected the French Immersion CHC2DF option)
  • chosen something for which they will not have the prerequisite
  • been informed that a class they have chosen has been cancelled or overenrolled
Please note that any other changes can only be considered once priority changes have been made, and only if space allows.

If you must make a change, please start the process by completing the form at the link below with a parent /guardian.

**Student Services maintains a waiting list, and if a spot becomes available in the course being requested we will process changes that are possible, usually until the 3rd day of class. If a course change request form is submitted, it is understood that the student needs this change and the request will be processed. Note that this may alter the order of other courses on the student's timetable (i.e. their week 2 courses may need to be adjusted to accommodate the change). The student will be notified via an email from Student Services staff. If an email regarding a change is not received, it means that the change is not possible at that time.

About Glebe Student Services

The goal of our staff in Student Services at Glebe Collegiate Institute is to work with students and their families and to ensure that they have the best possible preparation for their plans after high school. Student Services Staff are academic counsellors who can provide resources and support to assist students with their academic progress. Guidance Counsellors can help students choose courses and plan their educational pathway to meet their goals for the future.

Individual Support

High school can be an exciting experience. However, there are times when everyone could use some support and help. Guidance counsellors can provide support for students who might need assistance with managing challenges affecting their school life by connecting them to help through Student Success, Learning Support, or other professionals and community partners. Please reach out or make an appointment with your Guidance Counsellor if you need support.
