Welcome to Canterbury High School's Library!

Canterbury's Library is open Monday - Friday from 8am -11:45 and 12:10 to 4pm.  Any closures will be displayed on the schedule on the library door.

The library is a quiet space for students to read or work quietly on school work.  Please be respectful of the other students who come to the Library for a quiet place to study.

Library Resources
The library has many resources to offer students and teachers.  We have English and French fiction and non-fiction books as well as several magazine subscriptions.  Students may take out five items at a time from the Library for a period of three weeks.  There are also 30 computers and four seminar rooms available for quiet group work.  For more information on the resources in the Library, please see the link for Online Resources and Featured Books in the left hand menu!

The Ottawa Citizen e-Paper
We have a few copies of The Ottawa Citizen available outside the Library, but you can also access the Ottawa's Citizen's e-Paper from the school's network (which doesn't require a password).

Have an assignment to print?

There is a printer available for students to use in the library at a cost of 10 cents/page.  Instructions on how to use the Library printer can be found above all the computers in the library.   The printer also photocopies for 10 cents/page.  Instructions on how to use it are taped above the printer/photocopier.

Have some good books you'd like to share?

We are happy to accept donations of used books for Canterbury's Library.  Share a book you loved with your fellow classmates!

Interested in helping out and earning a credit?  Become a Library Peer Tutor!

A Library Peer Tutor's job is to help around the library: shelving books, tidying, running circulation, helping fellow students, or helping with special projects. Becoming a peer tutor provides students with a chance to test the waters of a possible career in teaching, while at the same time earning a credit.  The library is a friendly place to be, and there's always plenty of work to be done!
