Information and Communication Technology in Business

This course introduces students to information and communication technology in a business environment and builds a foundation of digital literacy skills necessary for success in a technologically driven society. Students will develop word processing, spreadsheet, database, desktop publishing, presentation software, and website design skills. Throughout the course, there is an emphasis on digital literacy, effective electronic research, communication skills, and current issues related to the impact of information and communication technology.

Introduction to Business

Students will develop an understanding of the functions of business, including accounting, marketing, information technology, human resources, production, and of the importance of ethics and social responsibility. Financial Accounting Fundamentals

Entrepreneurship: The Venture

Students will create a venture plan for a student-run, school-based, or summer business. Through hands-on experiences, students will have opportunities to develop the values, traits, and skills most often associated with successful entrepreneurs.

This course introduces the fundamental concepts of product marketing, which includes the marketing of goods, services, and events. Students will examine how trends, issues, global economic changes, and information technology influence consumer buying habits. Information and Communication Technology: The Digital Environment

Using a hands-on approach, students will further develop information and communication technology skills through the use of common business software applications. The concept and operation of e-business will be explored and students will design and create an e-business website.
