Greetings and welcome to the 2013 Covered Bridge Regatta.

This year’s regatta will again feature racing for master, junior and collegiate rowers on our fully buoyed, 7-lane Dexter Lake race course. A tentative race schedule is available at www.regattacentral.com and here.

Saturday, April 13th - races for juniors, colleges, masters. Coaches' and coxswains' meeting at 6:15 under the picnic shelter. Races all day from 7:20 AM until about 5 PM on ten-minute centers.

Saturday - noon - Oregon State University Beaver men vs. University of Washington Huskies

Sunday, April 14th - races for juniors, masters. Races from about 7:30 AM until 1 PM on ten-minute centers. Racing will end no later than 3 PM if there are Inclement weather or other delays.

Enter at www.RegattaCentral.com. between March 1st and the Deadline!!!! March 31st. A preliminary schedule of events is also there.

Look for a 'final' schedule after April 4th.

ENTRY LIMITATIONS: With the exception of single sculls, teams are limited to a maximum of one or two entries per event. In addition, most events now also have a cap for total entrants. Entries beyond these limits will be wait-listed. A tentative race schedule with entry limitations is available at www.regattacentral.com and here.

With the exception of single sculls events ($20), all events will cost $10/seat (coxswains free). In addition we must collect a $2.00 per athlete Oregon State Parks Usage Fee.

We strongly encourage clubs and schools to bring motor launches and drivers. This has been an incredible help in the past and we need you again this year. We do reimburse for fuel!

We also need volunteers for many jobs before, during and after the regatta. Check out our volunteer sign-up page to see where you might help - no experience necessary!

Parking There will be limited parking at Lowell State Park for trailers, large buses, team vans. Due to increased participation, some trailers, etc. must be parked offsite after unloading. Please reserve a parking spot by emailing Ken Jones (or call Ken at 541-912-3689). All other vehicles (including tow vehicles) of participants and spectators must park in the town of Lowell, which is a 10-15 minute walk from the park. A free shuttle bus will run between the park and town on Saturday only. There is no parking on Pengra road. Trailers and boats may be left overnight in the park’s parking lot adjacent to the launch area. The gate will be locked at 9:00 PM each night. The lot will be supervised, but equipment is left at your own risk. We encourage all teams to arrive on Friday to unload boats and equipment and maybe take a practice row. Be aware, however, the boats entered in the Dash will be warming up and racing on the course on Friday, late afternoon. Please stay off the course and in the marked practice area.

Volunteers There are less than 100 members in O.A.R. and the regatta takes about 1000 volunteer-hours to put on. If you can volunteer as beach-master, launch driver or in another capacity, please contact Kit Staples (kitstaples@yahoo.com)

This year we have two host hotels. The Quality Inn and Suites is located at 3550 Gateway St., Springfield, OR, two blocks from I-5 at exit 195A. The Eugene Hilton and Conference Center is located at 66 East 6th Avenue in downtown Eugene. They offer a double occupancy room for $99+tax, or $119 for four.

Camping Options

At Lowell Park: There is very limited camping space in Lowell Park. Camping is allowed only on Friday, April 13th and Saturday April14th. Tent camping is limited to the oak grove area. No camping on the beach. No open fires. All campers must secure a camping permit by payment of a $3.00 per-camper per-night Oregon State Park's Camping Fee, payable at www.RegattaCentral.com on the CBR registration page. Permits will be distributed in your team's packet.

Guest Bedrooms available in Lowell (not Bed & Breakfast)

Several families in the town of Lowell have offered low-cost housing near the race course. Accommodations include a private bedroom and breakfast for $50 per person per night. Contact Ruth George for details (541-937-2078 or RMGeorge513@aol.com). A flyer is located here.

Lowell High School

Inexpensive lodging for junior crews and their chaperones is available at Lowell High School, located just minutes from the park. $6 per rower(person)/night plus $50 non-refundable deposit). For further information contact:
