March 2 a district-wide day of action in defense of public education.

OEA Leadership is working with site administrators, classified employees, central administration,( parents, students, and School Board members to make March 2 a district-wide day of action in defense of public education. We urge all of our members to take action for our students and schools on that day. Plans are still being developed, but it is most likely there will be two main ways to participate:

1)     In Oakland -- morning picketing followed by disaster drills and lessons on the budget crisis at school sites.

2) Afternoon protests, press conference and budget teach-in at the State Building.

It won't be a furlough day --

you will be able to take a personal day.
