The Election of 1860 took place one hundred and fifty-three years ago. Although almost everything about this election is different from today, one component has not changed. The two main political parties are still the Democrats and Republicans. Even though our elections today have a similarity between the Election of 1860, most aspects of elections today are different. For example, the issues, media, and campaign trail are completely different from 1860 to today.
