Legal Services of the Hudson Valley
Legal Services of the Hudson Valley is the only provider of comprehensive civil legal services to all seven counties of the Hudson Valley including Westchester, Putnam, Dutchess, Rockland, Orange, Ulster and Sullivan. We are the recipient of Legal Services Corporation funding for the region and provide a full array of legal services to low-income individuals and families.
Interns will be under the supervision of admitted staff attorneys and attorney managers, and will be provided with learning opportunities in a wide variety of practice areas including landlord/tenant, domestic violence, government benefits, children’s advocacy, and family law as well as helping those who are members of the veterans, elder, LBGTQ and special needs populations.
Meet the Innovator:
Carol Neiditch, Esq. Carol Neiditch, Esq. is a graduate of Temple University School of Law and has worked as the Pro Bono Coordinator for Legal Services of the Hudson Valley for 7.5 years. She
spent a period of that time as the Director of the Pro Bono Unit. Her duties include finding volunteer attorneys, matching them with pro bono clients, and tracking their cases, as well as outreach to the legal community, organizing clinics, recognition events and CLE programs and coordinating the in-house volunteers in all the agency’s offices.
Carol now devotes one-half of her time to the coordinator duties, and the other half to the Innovator project. In the latter role, she focuses her time on the recruitment and supervision of law-student interns and Attorneys Emeritus. She participates at job fairs and presentations both at law schools and bar association events as well as tracking in-house needs for optimum use of intern and volunteer time. In the past, she has worked as a law clerk to an Administrative Law Judge at the Social Security Administration and completed Pace Law Schools New Directions program.
