Insurance

   Protecting financial assets and managing risk are the key concepts of insurance. This workshop will cover risk management strategies, choice, chance and control behavior issues, insurance terminology, ways to determine coverage needed and purchasing options, cost control strategies, state regulations and resources, and public insurance programs such as Medicare, Medicaid, family leave, and disability insurance.

  • Insurance Leader's Guide Outline/Cover Sheet: These two documents contain comprehensive directions for leading the Insurance session, including a step-by-step guide to reproduce the training and the handouts participants will need (Word)
  • Insurance Content Review Game (answers included) - A Power Point review game with answers to be played at the end of the training to reinforce the concepts covered (Word, PPT)
  • Insurance Group Discussion Scenarios (answers included): Real life scenarios library professionals may face when working with patrons who are looking for advice about insurance - intended to be a small group activity (Word)
  • Insurance List of Online Resources: A list of electronic resources (websites, videos, and quizzes) given as a handout to participants to supplement the training session and share with patrons (Word)
  • Insurance Participant Slides (speaker's notes included): A Power Point presentation to enhance the workshop with visuals and highlight the overarching themes of the course (PPT)
  • Insurance How Much Is Enough Worksheet:  Worksheet used to help calculate the optimum amount of insurance for an individual (PDF)
  • Insurance Xtranormal Video: A short clip of a library professional interacting with a patron requesting information about insurance.
