PARKING

A temporary dashboard parking permit tag must be displayed. Please contact the PA program at pa@nyit.edu if you have not received a dashboard tag.  Only park in yellow-lined spots.  

In all circumstances, to avoid tickets, please do NOT park in the following sections:

• sections specifically marked for patients

• white-lined faculty & staff parking, and

• blue-lined handicap spots.

• • The college’s official address is not suitable for GPS, and please note that entering "NYIT" into the GPS unit may lead you to the wrong campus.  Instead, please use the coordinates below, which you can send directly to your smartphone.

  • PLUS CODE:  For GPS directions, enter the following Plus Code into your mobile device's Google Maps app:  R95V+HX Old Westbury, New York

  • GPS coordinates for the parking lot in front of Riland Center are 40 48.535 - 073 36.306 .  

  • The entrance to the campus can be found by searching the following intersection: Northern Blvd & Valentines Ln, Old Brookville, NY 11545. Have the campus map ready to assist in navigating through the campus. 

  • Most domestic flights arrive at LaGuardia Airport, but JetBlue and some Delta flights arrive at JFK Airport.  Both airports are of equal distance to NYIT Old Westbury and surrounding towns.   To get from the airport to the campus:

    • Taxi:  The fare is usually around $60 - $70. Be sure to only catch taxis from the official taxi stands at the airport, and obtain a confirmation of the total fare before boarding the taxi.     • Ride sharing services - you are strongly advised to plan ahead as there may be strict guidelines for pick up points.

    • Taking the train from JFK:  This is the least costly but most time consuming, as it will involve taking two train lines followed by a taxi/car/bus to the campus.  First, take an AirTrain from JFK and get off at the Jamaica station.  There is an in-station link from the AirTrain's Jamaica platform to the Long Island Railroad (LIRR).  Follow the instructions below on how to take the LIRR to the campus.

  • If you are planning to take the train, please visit this website to find out which Long Island Rail Road (LIRR) station is the closest to NYIT’s Old Westbury campus: http://nyit.edu/old_westbury/directions.

    • • We suggest taking the LIRR to Hicksville (Port Jefferson and Ronkonkoma branches) and then taking a taxi or Long Island Bus N20 to campus (weekdays only for buses).  Before boarding the N20 check with the conductor that he will stop by the NYIT campus (not to be confused with SUNY Old Westbury!), and ask his/her assistance in telling you when to get off (if the bus does not have a electronic announcement system).

      • Whatever station you choose, you may need to call the following taxi companies to transport you from the station to the campus:

      • Inform the taxi operator that you need to go to New York Institute of Technology in Old Westbury, specifically to the Riland Health Center (also known as NYCOM 2).
