HOW WE TREAT:

• Acupuncture sessions: 45 minutes, 60 minutes, and 75-minute sessions (including cupping, body guasha, massage techniques)

• Massage appointments: 15 minutes, 30 minutes, and 60 minutes (if you also have a Massage Therapist license)

• Herbal consultation as well as cupping sessions are offered: 15 minutes, 30 minutes

RESPONSIBILITIES / DUTIES:

• Evaluate and assess patient condition by conducting brief health history

• Administer acupuncture treatment using sterile, single use needles at specified locations to address patient and/or referring provider's chief complaint

• Evaluate effects of treatments by observing, noting, and evaluating patient's progress; modifying when necessary

• Document patient encounters by charting in our medical records system

• Educate patients on benefits and risks of acupuncture treatment

• Maintain safe and clean treatment environment and adhering to strict sanitary procedures

• Light cleaning and maintaining an inventory of supplies as needed

• Someone who has experience working with Chinese herbal medicine (preferred)

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

• Certified by the NCCAOM (National Certification Commission for Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine)

• College Degree

•1 year of experience as an acupuncturist (preferred)

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:

• Strong English communication skills (mandatory)

• Chinese language skills (preferred)

• Ability to make patients feel safe and comfortable during acupuncture treatments

• Exceptional time management and ability to treat multiple patients per hour

• Confident and positive disposition

• Able to stand and/or sit for long periods of time

About the position

An acupuncturist at Encircle provides acupuncture in a low-cost, high-volume community setting. This is a fast-paced clinical setting. We treat up to six patients per hour (sometimes more!), utilizing streamlined communication and efficient treatment strategies. Our acupuncturists focus solely on clinical care, and are not expected to market their practice or take on the responsibilities of running a business. Our acupuncturists are w-2 employees, not independent contractors, and earn predictable pay with a consistent work schedule. We provide administrative support so you can focus on taking care of patients.

MBCWC is currently seeking a well-qualified Florida Licensed acupuncturist who is certified in injection therapies for a part-time position in our clinic. English is the primary language spoken in our clinic. Applicants must be able to communicate and write medical acupuncture notes in English.

Applicants must carry Florida State minimum required professional liability insurance (professional liability coverage in an amount not less than $10,000 per claim, with a minimum annual aggregate of not less than $30,000).

Applicants must demonstrate excellent customer service and patient rapport, expertise in acupuncture needling and competence in Chinese herbal remedies. Our office is an integrated medicine practice which serves a wide array of patients seeking help for complex medical conditions.

Applicants must show compassion for people in need and suffering from difficult to treat medical issues. The job description is as follows:

Counseling

• Able to convey complex health information to patients at an appropriate level

• Able to provide compassionate counseling to patients who are experiencing physical, mental and emotional distress

• Abides by the highest ethical standards of patient care, in compliance with HIPPAA and other applicable practice guidelines

Responsibilities

• Develop relationships with the patients of MBCWC to facilitate and expedite their care. 

• Maintain compliance with HIPPAA privacy standards

• Document communication with patients and the progress of their care

• Provide excellent customer service and serve as a liaison for the practice to assist in settling patient complaints

•  Develop and implement care strategies and health promotion programs

• Assist clinic patient flow with check in, room turnover and checkout

• Assist in ordering, receiving, organizing and maintaining appropriate inventory of testing materials and medical supplies

•  Answer phone calls, return messages, schedule appointments

• Communicate with outside health care providers, labs, suppliers and vendors

Golden Light Acupuncture Clinic in New Paltz, NY (Hudson Valley) has created a 2-year Acupuncture Residency Program for a recent or soon-to-be grad. This will be a full-time, salaried position. 

Commitment: this is a 2-year program that will give a Licensed Acupuncturist an opportunity to work and grow in collaboration with a team of dedicated Acupuncturists. We are committed to the growth of the profession and to you as an individual/part of the team, and we are asking in exchange, you commit to two years at the practice. This is also important from a patient-care perspective to allow for continuity of treatments and relationships to develop. At the conclusion of the 2-year program, we can discuss further employment opportunities. 

Specialized training: the team at Golden Light Acupuncture specializes in pain management, pediatrics, and reproductive health. There are hours each week set aside for assisting/training our experienced practitioners, including case review. Based on areas of interest, we will co-create a hands-on training program.

Hours: Approximately 40 hours per week working as Licensed Acupuncturist with hours included for on-site training and mentoring.
