Northwest Colorado BOCES is honored to be a 2014 recipient of the U.S. Department of Education's Investing in Innovation (i3) grant.

NW BOCES' i3 project is a System for Educator Effectiveness Development (SEED) consisting of 3 core components:

The SEED PAK is an interactive resource library where teachers learn and interact with other teachers through a cultivated collection of up-to-date resources that support their work in the classroom. The Personalized Accessible Knowledge of the SEED PAK gives teachers anytime, anywhere access to tools to help them improve their practice.

Teacher Evaluation links help teachers to get professional development aligned to their identified areas for growth.
SEED links directly with the standards and elements of the Colorado model evaluation system rubric so that teachers can find and focus on what they need.

SEED Teacher Learning Communities are developed based on regional needs identified through teacher evaluation. These are opportunities for teachers to engage deeply in a professional growth topic through a blended learning model incorporating both online and face to face interactions with SEED innovation coaches and other teachers. TLCs are an opportunity for rural teachers to take advantage of the strengths of both in-person and virtual learning in order to integrate impactful professional development into their busy lives on a daily basis.
