East Music Programs
Strong Vocal, Aural & Motor Skill Development: combination of styles with an emphasis on Music Learning Theory.
CI & ASD Music Classes: each meets twice weekly
Music Ace Maestro in Computer Lab (music literacy/technology component)
1st – 4th gr. 30 min. weekly for approx. 18 weeks a year
IMMA & PMMA in Computer Lab (music aptitude/technology component)
Intermediate Measures of Music Audiation (IMMA) &
Primary Measures of Music Audiation (PMMA)
Recorder instruction: 3rd & 4th grade, Jan – Mar
World Drumming: K-4 (adapted World Drumming)
Handchimes: Kindergarten - 4th gr. entire class chiming (e.g. I, IV, V7, I, & linear ringing).
Musician / Composer of the Month: Music history component
“Start the Laser”: Similar to music school’s “drop the needle”. Ludwig van Beethoven is the 2013 - 2014 focus (friendly competition between 3rd & 4th grades).
Song Project: Students will learn and sing the fight song in concerts, assemblies, lunch on Fridays, etc.

East Oakview Choristers: approx. 36 - 4th graders (w/family members traveling to Illinois 5/17/14)
