UPDATE: 18 May 2020

Welcome to week 9! This week would have been final exams, which you guys don't have to do.

This is the last week we are mandated to make two-way communication with you, so please respond to my email sent out this morning, even with one word, so I can check you off and not have to call 10 different numbers listed in Infinite Campus for you and lose my voice again. Thank you!

Be well and HAVE A GREAT SUMMER!!

UPDATE: 11 May 2020

Welcome to week 8! Attached is the Week 8 CCSD optional, ungraded supplemental enrichment work packet. Google classrooms for study skills and life strategies classes have been updated with specific supplemental activities, as well. Check your other teachers' google classrooms for supplemental, ungraded enrichment work.

Remember to contact your 3rd period teachers and case managers for attendance. For my 3rd period students and for my caseload, I have sent out an attendance email. If you simply respond to that email, you will be counted for attendance this week. If I don't hear from you, I am required to start calling your cell phones at 8am on Friday mornings to make sure I have "two-way communication" with you (meaning you respond to me). The easiest way to do this is simply REPLY TO MY ATTENDANCE EMAIL on Monday mornings. If I don't hear from you EVERY WEEK, every Friday morning I'll be callin! It's a lot less work for all of us if you simply respond to the email.

It's official: Your third quarter grades are going to be your second semester grades. At this point, you should be finishing turning your work in with your various teachers in order to wrap up the semester. FINISH UP THIS OPPORTUNITY!

Also, to arrange the return of Coronado materials or the pickup of items you need from school, please fill out this form from Assistant Principal Jamie Gilbert ASAP to make arrangements: [https://forms.gle/We7Y3JC13k5qVZ4B9]

UPDATE: 20 March 2020

Hello, students! I write to you all from my home. Week 1 down! You should have each received a personal email to your CCSD email address from me as of last night, check your email!

I urge you to complete this optional assignment if you are in my Life Strategies or Study Skills classes: Find a self-help book of your choice, order it, read it, and write a two-page synopsis and reflection on that book. You already understand from class that personal growth and deepening our maturity and human capacity is of utmost importance as you become adults, and I believe that you can choose to learn a great deal about yourselves during this time if you are willing to channel your energies toward that goal. Email me if you would like suggestions. :D

Other than that, I recommend using your school agenda to keep a clear daily schedule for yourself. Maintain some kind of sleeping and eating schedule. Schedule time for movement. Schedule time for quiet. Schedule time to not be on a screen! Read an actual book! Keep your brain and body muscles activated and we can see the positive, self-growth aspects of being made to stay inside unexpectedly.

Remember from class, we are almost adults and we have full control over how we choose to perceive our situation. We can choose to approach this experience from our adult ego states and consciously decide not to react from our reactive child or critical parent ego states.

Like I said in my emails to you all, I am one email away if you'd like to chat or need anything.

Be well and take care of your body, mind, and family. I can't wait to see you all again, I miss you so much!! Below this message are CCSD links for high school work.

-Ms. Adamo

Here is information regarding district-approved schoolwork that you may do to engage your mind and ensure that there is learning happening. Read the part that says "Grades 9-12":
