Instructional Guide

Axile, 10-5-20 - 10-6-20

· Write narrative sentences, sequencing multiple events in order.

· Plan writing; use pictures and outlines as a graphic organizer

· Use transition words like first, then, next, finally

· Practice sentence structure

· Utilize use of upper-case letters, finger spacing, and ending punctuation

· Introduction to Nouns (person, place, or thing)

· Phonics: short vowel e sound

· Build CVC words (consonant-vowel-consonant pattern)

· Identify main character, details in a text

· Compare two characters

· Ask and answer questions to understand a text

· Use “W” questions (who, what, where, when, why, and how)

· Retell a story

· Identify beginning / middle / end of a story

· Print concept practice (book cover, title, identify front/back of a book, etc.)

· Practice TPR Counting (Total Physical Response, clapping as we count)

· Math Facts (addition and subtraction)

· Use number lines and ten frames to add and subtract within twenty

· Discussion about respect, what it means to a community to show respect
