Director of Bands
Mr. Nathan Geyer
Has been Director of Bands at Desert Oasis HS since 2013. Hailing from WA state, he earned his Masters degrees in Music Education from Eastern Washington University. He is an avid educator, clinician, conductor, and trombonist on and off the Las Vegas strip and around Clark County NV.
Color Guard Staff
Brittany has been involved in the colorguard activity for over 6 years now. She has spun with DCI organizations such as Heatwave and Pacific Crest, as well as the WGI group 702 Independant. While in High School, she helped start the first middel schoo guard in NV, Greenspun JHS, and she is currently the director of said middle school and Desert Oasis.
Manilyn is going on her 8th year being a part if the colorguard activity. After graduating fro Silverado High School's colorguard, she went on to spin with the DCI group The Acadamy Drum and Bugel Core from 2016-2018, as well as the local Vegas WGI group 702 Independant from 2017-2018. She is currently director of Schofield MS winter guard and is returning for her 3rd year at Desert Oasis HS.
Max is the IA and percussion caption head for the Band Program at DOHS. Max has performed with the Sacramento Mandarins, Vegas Vanguard, and Blue Devils Entertainment. In 2017, Max joined Desert Oasis as a Front Ensemble Tech. In 2018, he assumed the role of Percussion Caption Head. Max proudly uses Vic Firth Sticks/Mallets, Evans Drumheads, Sabian Cymbals, and Mapex/Majestic Drums and Percussion. Max teaches and works at Music and Arts in Las Vegas, NV.
Chris is a native of Las Vegas that has been heavily involved with the marching arts since 2011. Before graduating from Foothill HS in 2015, he performed with the school's marching band and indoor drumline. After high school, he went on to perform with the UNLV marching band, Vegas Vanguard, The Battalion Drum and Bugle Corps, Impulse Drum and Bugle Corps, and Gold Indoor Percussion. Chris is very excited to take up the role of Battery Manager and excited to be a part of the journey of the DO band program.
Brianna Kelly is the cymbal tech here at Desert Oasis High School. She is originally from Charleston, SC. She attended Western California University and marched with the Pride of the Mountain Lions Marching Band before moving to Las Vegas to pursue a degree in Music Education at UNLV. Her primary instrument is clarinet and has taught privately for 3 years at Arbor View High School. She has marched 2 years of crash cymbals in Vegas Vanguard and the UNLV marching band. She is excited to start working with the drumline and cymbals and to get to build and grow with this music program.
Leo is a 2013 graduate from the DOHS performing arts department. He is currently a Jazz Studies major at UNLV. He is a piano accompanist around Las Vegas and currently works for the CCSD as an Instructional Aide at Liberty High School.
