I received my M.S. in Geology in 2004 and my Ph.D. in Geology in 2008, both from Michigan Technological University, Houghton, MI.
My M.S. thesis was titled, "Observing Popocatepetl's Volcanic Clouds Using MODIS Infrared Data - A Case Study of the December 2000 - January 2001 Emissions".
A summary of my M.S. thesis was published in 2008 in the Journal of Volcanology and Geothermal Research (JVGR) and is available in the attachment below as a PDF file.
My Ph.D. dissertation was titled, "Mitigating Hazards to Aircraft from Drifting Volcanic Clouds by Comparing and Combining IR Satellite Data with Forward Transport Models".
A case study of this research applied to the 2003 Anatahan Volcano eruption cloud is currently being revised for publication in JVGR.
