Norris High School Special Educator/Learning Specialist

The Norris School District embraces an inclusion philosophy whereby students with special needs have access to the general curriculum where their academic, behavioral, and social goals can be met in a natural school setting.  Supports available to students include:
  • Co-taught classes where students have access to two teachers, a content expert and a learning specialist
  • Study Skills classes for individual or small group tutoring, behavior plan implementation, and/or social skills instruction
  • Circle of Friends peer support groups
  • Extracurricular activity participation planning and support
  • Vocational training offered through our on-campus Work Study program
  • Project Search 18-21 program at St. Elizabeth's Hospital providing on-the-job training in a real world work environment
