Frederick Douglass taught that literacy is the path from slavery to freedom. There are many kinds of slavery and many kinds of freedom. But reading is still the path.

The literacy center is available for any student needing support with a classroom project, reading and/or writing assignment. Students have already come in for help with essay writing, math projects, answering textbook questions, note-taking, and vocabulary.  They have come in to complete classroom reading, receive assistance with test preparation, and prepare for SAT testing.

Please send students with all materials they will need to successfully complete the assignment.

In time, the literacy center will build a library of resources for reading and writing materials that are used frequently. In the meantime, however, specific books or reference materials may  not be readily available.

To sign students up for a literacy center session, contact Brandi MacDonald by email at
macdonaldb@nashua.edu, call extension 6752, or stop by the literacy center in C238.
