Nansemond-Suffolk Academy operates its own fleet of school buses to assist with the transportation needs of our families. Certified commercial bus drivers who have been screened with a criminal background check transport NSA students on different routes throughout Hampton Roads. NSA strives to provide a safe and reliable transportation system for all students.
Bus transportation is available to students in Pre-Kindergarten through Grade 12. Parents may elect this service at contract time. New this year, there is also an online enrollment option, which is below, labeled "Regular Bus Enrollment Form." If you have not already done so and are interested in this service option, please register your child as soon as possible so we are able to finalize our transportation routes prior to the beginning of school.
We currently maintain 8 daily regular bus transportation routes serving the following areas: Suffolk, Chesapeake, Portsmouth, Franklin, Smithfield, Edenton, NC and Elizabeth City, NC. We strive to provide safe, efficient and economical transportation to as many families as possible and, as a result, are offering pick-up and drop-off locations rather than door-to-door service. Established routes, stops and times are listed in the document below as well as the fee structure for this additional service.
An Activity Bus service is also being offered to all NSA enrolled students! Offering this additional service was in direct response to NSA families' transportation needs, especially for students involved in after-school activities such as sports, clubs, Extended Care, Beyond the Bell and tutoring.
We currently offer Activity Bus service to the following 2 areas: Route A - to North Suffolk - Riverfront Swim Club - arrives 6:10 p.m. Route B - to Sunbury, NC - corner of Folly Road & Rt 32 - arrives 6:20 p.m. Both routes depart NSA at approximately 5:45 p.m. daily. To register for the service, please use the enrollment form below labeled "Activity Bus Enrollment Form."
Please contact Ardie Norman, Director of Transportation, at 539-8789 ext. 2147 or 535-8858 (cell) should you have transportation questions or concerns.
