Areas of the Library

The Learning Commons is the back area of the library. Sign up to bring your classes to conduct research using library resources, including print! (We will create a book cart relevant to the content area and project assigned. Or,we will be available to assist students in locating print materials using the electronic card catalog. If you require Chromebooks, you must sign up for one. There is a ceiling mounted projector, a whiteboard and a screen.

The Learning Commons 2 Lab
is in the immediate (yet far) left of the library as you walk in the door. You may hear it referred
to as “the half wall lab, or the old half wall lab”. As you may have guessed ,there used to be ½ walls surrounding an old computer lab.

This area is used for the same things as the learning commons, but it comes with a Chromebook cart! There is a ceiling mounted projector, a whiteboard and a screen.

Lab 273
is past the circulation desk and on the right. This lab has brand new desktop computers this year. This lab has a door, a ceiling mounted projector, but no whiteboard.

The Reference Area contains all of our reference materials and ten tables.  When reserving this area, you also have access to desktop computers.

Copy Machines Printers

Staff can print to the Circulation Desk it is NRH-600CircDesk on Uniflow. This printer is behind the circulation desk. Students do not have access to this printer.

The Follow Me on Uniflow option is a network option that allows you to print to ANY copy machine in the building. Once you swipe your badge and select __________________ on the copy machine screen, a list of jobs that you sent will appear.

If you send a student to make copies, or print out something on the copy machine, PLEASE send them with your badge. If you are not comfortable with that, please consider making your own copies.

We can go over the copy machine if anyone is interested.

The NRH-3600CircDesk on uniflow is for color printing. PLEASE be sure to print only what is necessary - and if your print job is in all black ink, do not select this option. The ink cartridges for this printer are very costly.

Noodletools

Noodletools is the citation/note taking subscription that the district adopted several years ago.

Students and Staff create a log in ID and password and associate it with the high school. Teachers have a different dashboard, so when you sign up, be sure to select the “I am a teacher” option. You can manage your classes by creating dropboxes for each class period and assignment.

A quick start guide to signing up. I can go over this with you individually, or as a group if time permits.

If a student first logs in and gets the message that he/she needs to ‘revalidate’ the username is nashobarhs and the password is nashoba.
