About Me

I was born in the Bronx, raised in Brooklyn, and graduated from the New York City Public Schools. As a high school student, I was a Head Start volunteer, a Boy Scout leader, and summer camp counselor. I was destined to become a teacher!

For four years after getting my BA in Psychology from Clark University in Worcester, MA, I was a resource teacher at Quaboag Regional Middle/High School in Warren, MA. I then served as Key Teacher for Special Education at E.O. Smith High School in Storrs, CT for three years. During that time, I earned my MA in Special Education at the University of Connecticut.

Though I loved teaching, the allure of technology led me away to a career in marketing audio, broadcast, and Internet products. Returning to teaching, though, was always in the back of my mind.

In 2011, I moved to Jersey City and I became a teacher for the second time in October 2014. In February 2015, I was appointed Special Education Teacher at First Avenue School where I continued through June 2017.
