About the Nottingham School Science Fair
The Nottingham School Science Fair will be held on Friday, March 17, 2017. The fair is open to all students from K-8. It provides an opportunity for student participants to experience the excitement of scientific discovery and to interact with scientists from the local community. Students who participate will pick a topic; research, study, and conduct experiments at home; prepare a display to show their work to judges and classmates, and participate in an awards ceremony.
Each student who signs up will receive a notice of confirmation and directions on how to access the rules and guideline to help conduct a project, including safety rules and guidelines for the fair.

First time doing the science fair? Have questions about expectations or how to do a display? This is an
informational, Q & A session for parents and/or students. This will be held at the Nottingham School Library.
Friday, February 17- Registration Ends
Friday, March 10 - Recognition Forms Due
Parents, Family, and Friends-- leave a lasting message in the 2017 Science Fair Event Program by purchasing a Recognition Ad for $1.00 per line, maximum of 5 lines! This is a great opportunity to show your support, encouragement and congratulations for
your young scientist. Forms are due ASAP.
Friday, March 10 - Project Type Declared
Participants must notify the Science Fair committee if their project is a research or experimental project (for judging purposes). Project Description Form
Monday, March 13 - Permission Forms Due
Participants in grades 3-8, will need a permission form signed to allow them to stay after school, the day of the event.
Friday, March 17, 2017 is the Science Fair!
The fair is held at the school. It includes a formal judging period for participants in grades 3-8 that begins at 2:40 PM, followed by a public exhibit and awards ceremony for all participants (grades K-8) from 6:30 PM to 7:45 PM.
The schedule for the day of the Science Fair:
All participants bring their exhibits to the gym on arrival
8:15 - 9:00 AM
Final set up before student/teacher walk through
9:30 AM – 1:30 PM (tentative times)
Student, teacher, and staff walk through
Grades 3-8 stay after school for judging
Grades K-2 leave school at end of school day as normal
Judging begins for grades 3-8
Judging complete; all students depart
Public exhibit (all students, all grades, man their displays)
Awards ceremony begin in cafeteria for Grades k - 2
Awards ceremony begin for Grades 3 - 8
Science fair ends--participants must take home projects
