Dear Parents and Carers,

Welcome to Norton Free Church of England Primary School’s Website. We are very proud of our school and aim to ensure that it is a secure, inclusive and caring environment where everyone is valued and respected. Our Christian ethos is central to the life of the school. As such, we strive to develop our children’s spirituality through an awareness of Christianity, as well as other religions.

We are committed to providing a stimulating and motivating learning environment, one that equips and prepares our pupils for the 21st Century. We believe that everyone in our school should enjoy their learning and feel proud of their achievements. To fulfil this, we provide a broad and balanced curriculum which gives equal value to developing children’s academic, social, physical and spiritual understanding. Our aim is to prepare every pupil so that they can make a positive contribution to British society and that they can function in the fast changing world in which they find themselves. Through fostering a lifelong love of learning, we hope to help our pupils to live a full and happy adult life.

We greatly value the relationship we have with our parents and carers and recognise that effective partnerships are essential. We appreciate and value the support our families give us and the role they play in enriching our pupil’s experiences and supporting their child’s education. Parents and carers are always most welcome to come into school to help or to discuss their child’s progress or any matters of concern.

The purpose of this website is to inform current and prospective parents and carers about the life of our school; its ethos, aims and values. We hope the site will be useful and enjoyable to view and you will visit it on a regular basis.

Please contact the school if you require any further information not on the website or would like to visit the school. Visits are most warmly welcome.

Yours faithfully

Hazel Bell

Norton Free Church of England Primary School is a one-form entry school for pupils aged 4-11. We were recently judged by OFSTED to be good in all areas (November 2015). The school is located on the southern side of the city of Sheffield and draws from this catchment and the surrounding areas.
The last Diocesan Inspection was in November 2016 and states that "The distinctiveness and effectiveness of Norton Free as a Church of England school is good -the distinctive Christian character and nurturing, family ethos of the school are demonstrated through very good relationships and contribute strongly to children's development, achievement and progress."
