June 1, 2017 - MaryElizabeth Habla Color Run Album

If you continue to have difficulty, please email to request the link to this album.

This year’s Color Run was another smashing success, with well over 300 individuals and families taking part. The addition of the Falcon Dash obstacle course added to the fun, and the color throwing and water battles lasted into the afternoon.

Friends and families definitely enjoyed their time together while contributing to a great cause. As you’ve probably read or heard, the event has been re-named the MaryElizabeth Habla Color Run, and will annually raise money for a math scholarship to be given each year in Mrs. Habla’s name. Several members of Mrs. Habla’s family, including her husband Bobby and her daughter Hillary, were on hand to see the outpouring of community support for Mary’s memory and this very worthy cause.

This year’s MaryElizabeth Habla Color Run raised over $3,000, enough to fund the scholarship for over 12 years. NCS is grateful both to everyone who paid the entry fee and the many anonymous donors who gave money to help establish the scholarship. A big thank you also goes out to First Choice Financial Credit Union for donating water and providing volunteers. Thanks as well to the many staff and parent volunteers who made the event possible.

Thanks also to the Community Leadership & Service class for arranging and running the obstacle course; kids and adults alike enjoyed the challenge (and the squirt gun barrage). And thank you to Morgan Mackey, who used her own money to supply the bracelets in all 300 goodie bags.

This small community comes together like few others; it’s so awesome to see, and the school is thankful to be part of it!
