Welcome 2015-2016

posted Aug 11, 2015, 8:13 PM by Anthony Lombardo

Welcome to our class web site!  I hope that you will have a great fourth grade year.  I also hope that parents will find this web site useful throughout the school year.  I admit that I do not update this news section regularly.  I rely on our newsletters to keep everyone informed!  That said, there is one section of this site that is updated consistently: the calendar page.  Here I post all upcoming tests, quizzes, field trips, and other important events.  It is linked to my Google calendar so it stays up-to-date.
I am looking forward to a great year!

Long Division

posted Dec 4, 2014, 9:47 AM by Anthony Lombardo

Today students were introduced to "long" division.  This tends to be a difficult concept for students to grasp.  Please remember that there is a Lightsaber Lecture video available on this topic.  Students can watch this short video to be reminded of the steps involved in the long division process.  Click on the Lightsaber Lectures link on the left side of this screen.

Grade Book Ready

posted Sep 16, 2014, 10:11 AM by Anthony Lombardo

Our issues with ProgressBook have been resolved.  Parents and students now have 24 hour a day/ 7 days a week access to their grades online.  To access our online grade book, please click here.

I am playing catch up right now but hope to have all our graded assignments so far this year entered in the grade book by Friday.  There will be some kinks and glitches but everything appears to be ready to go.  Please disregard that dates of assignments.  The displayed date usually refers to the date I entered the assignment into the grade book, NOT the date it was assigned or due.

You will need a username and password to access the grade book.  I do not have this information.  If you need assistance, please contact Northmoor's office at 832-6800.

Graded Work

posted Sep 9, 2014, 12:55 PM by Anthony Lombardo

Still no Progress Book updates.  However, I decided it had been long enough for you to wait for graded work.  Therefore today I gave students their most recent math test, quiz, and graded homework to bring home.  I recorded it separately on paper and will add it to the grade book once it's up and running.  We have never had to wait this long for our grade books to be set up but, as I mentioned in my newsletter, there were unforeseen extenuating circumstances that have prevented our secretary from completing this task.  I appreciate everyone's patience.

Glad to see a lot of you at the BBQ today!  Thanks for coming!

Book Orders

posted Aug 27, 2014, 10:07 AM by Anthony Lombardo

Today students will be bringing home Scholastic book order forms.  I handle the book orders for both Mrs. Schreiber's homeroom and mine.   I do not send home many of these over the course of the school year.  I find them to be a bit of a hassle, especially with two school book fairs a year.  However, I DO push this first book order of the school year.  Scholastic provides a great deal of incentives for teachers and students who submit September book orders.  So by purchasing books through Scholastic, you help our class!

With every order, Scholastic donates a generous amount of free books for our classroom libraries.  The larger the order, the more books and resources we receive.  We would love the opportunity to add to our library selections.  Additionally, each student who orders will receive a coupon for a free book on our next book order plus a free poster.

So, as you can see, the reward level is high.  Therefore I encourage you to consider purchasing books from this September book order.  Again, I will not make a similar push for future book orders.  It's just this first order of the year that offers us such incentives.

Please return book orders to me or submit your order online at by Wednesday, September 3.  Our online ordering code is GQ4CJ.

Web Site Updates

posted Aug 24, 2014, 11:56 AM by Anthony Lombardo   [ updated Aug 24, 2014, 11:56 AM ]

Greetings!  It is Sunday, August 24th and I am just starting to update this web site so that it is in good shape for the rest of the school year.  If you visit the downloads page, you will find two files added: Friday's newsletter and the "packet of doom."  The packet is simply a comprehensive document containing rules and procedures for my classroom.  As for the newsletter, expect one every Friday.  If your child misplaces a newsletter, you can always visit this site and download another copy.

This week I will be updating the calendar feature.  You can check that for upcoming school and classroom events.  I'll always post upcoming tests, quizzes, and projects there.

Please email me with any questions or suggestions you might have.  I really would like to make this site a useful resource for both parents and students.

Thanks for visiting Room 107's home on the web!  I hope you will find this web site to be very useful over the course of the school year.  There are absolutely no "bells and whistles" on this site.   Just simple and (hopefully) informative.  Please email me with any questions.  Thanks for stopping by!

It was a pleasure to work with you and your child this year!  I hope everyone has a wonderful summer.  Keep in touch!  My contact information is included with the final newsletter.

Use this summer to read, read, read and play, play, play!

I wish all students the best of luck in grade 6!

With the OAA's now over, I can update this site more regularly.  Sorry for the lack of updates recently but things have been incredibly busy with OAA prep work.  Thanks!

Blizzard Bag

Since we missed our 6th day of school due to weather, students are required to complete some assignments which our district calls a "blizzard bag."

Click the link below to be taken to the assignments.  Students have until February 12th to complete these assignments.
