The History of The Carpenter's Shop

In 1987, Calvin started The Carpenter's Shop as a sole proprietorship. The facility was designed and operated as a business specializing in custom architectural millwork, primarily for contractors and private home owners.

The Calving Horning Family Management Team

In January 1994, The Carpenter's Shop became incorporated as an 'S' corporation. Initially, Calvin was the owner and sole employee of the business, but in 1990 the number of employees started growing and continues to grow today.

From the original 2,400 square foot facility located in Coudersport The Carpenter’s Shop expanded to its Ulysses location of 18,403 square feet. In addition to our manufacturing plant, we now offer a showroom with sample displays as well as racks of molding and lumber for sale. One of our displays showcases our molding samples. Of which we have over 1,000 profiles and the ability to match custom profiles.
