  • Nov. 12 - Nov. 16 ~ The week before Thanksgiving Break Three weeks into the new quarter, and we're on a roll!  6th Graders are finishing up their Germs unit, and will be moving on to learning about Tobacco and Nicotine.  7th Graders will wrap up the Social and Emotional Health unit with a quiz, and they should have their Video Quest Assignment done by Wed. at 8:00 PM.  8th Graders are wrapping up their TDSP unit with a quiz as well, and the 'Need to ACT protocol video assignment should be complete by 8:00 Thursday night. Happy Thanksgiving to all D28 Students and Families!

  • Nov. 6 - Nov. 10 Students are getting into their first units.  6th Graders are learning about Germs and Pathogens, 7th Graders are learning about Social and Emotional Health, and 8th Graders are studying Teen Depression and Suicide Prevention.  ALL STUDENTS WERE GIVEN INDEPENDENT ASSIGNMENTS THIS WEEK- WHICH WILL NOT BE DUE UNTIL FRIDAY, NOVEMBER 30TH.  Please see your Grade Level 'Super Handy Links' in Google Classroom if you need another copy.  ;)

  • Oct. 8 - Oct. 12 It's a short week, but we're looking forward to learning a lot!  6th graders are learning about goal setting after assessing their own personal health triangle.  7th graders are moving on to their body image unit.  We will watch a portion of the terrific documentary, "Super Size Me", and then we'll learn more about the risks that correlate with obesity, eating disorders and steroid abuse.  8th Graders are into their drug abuse unit, and are analyzing "The Truth About Drugs".  Everyone should have gym shoes on their feel and be dressed to run a mile outside on Friday.

  • Oct. 1 - Oct. 5 We are wrapping up several units in Health Class!  6th Graders will be taking a quiz on information from the Tobacco and Nicotine Unit on Thursday, and 7th graders will take a quiz on Alcohol Abuse Thursday as well.  The 8th Graders will wrap up their CPR unit on Tuesday/Wednesday with a written quiz on the facts, and a demonstration quiz.

  • Sept. 24 - Sept. 28 A whole week for 7th and 8th Graders!  How unusual!  6th graders will spend two days learning more about tobacco and nicotine, and then it's off to outdoor ed!  Have fun 6th grade!  7th Grade is in the midst of the Alcohol Abuse unit.  Please check out the eBook and start studying for a deep understanding of the risks of abusing alcohol.  8th Graders are into the hands-on, skill-based CPR unit!  Students should study the appropriate slide shows and links in the eBook to learn more about heart disease and choking.
