  • April 16 - Friday, April 20 All students should be reminded that the Independent Assignment (colored packet) is due on or before April 27th.  6th grade is moving on from Germs to Goal Setting!  Look forward to making your own sweet health goal!  7th graders are wrapping up their Social and Emotional Health unit.  The Video Quest assignment will be due by Friday. Time was given in class to work on that.  Also, there will be a quiz on Thursday.  Practice with Quizizz from home!  The link is on Google Classroom.  8th grade is wrapping up the Teen Depression / Suicide Prevention unit.  Quiz on Thursday as well- and students can study with the Quizizz link on GC as well!  The Flipgrid ACT practice will be due ...

  • Monday, April 2 - Friday, April 6 Welcome Quarter 4 Students!  I hope everyone had a lovely and relaxing Spring Break!  This first week we are learning about classroom procedures, and diving in to our first units: 6th Grade- Germs and Pathogens, 7th Grade- Social & Emotional Health, and 8th Grade- Teen Depression and Suicide Prevention.  I'm looking forward to a terrific 9 weeks with my students as we enjoy learning about how to keep ourselves healthy on many levels!

  • Mar. 19 - Friday, Mar. 23 - LAST WEEK OF THE QUARTER! I'm sure all of my students are looking forward to spring break!  I know I am!  This is the last week of the quarter, and all grade levels are in the midst of their sexuality education units.  6th graders are learning about puberty, 7th graders are learning about pregnancy and birth, and 8th graders are learning about sexually transmitted infections and future choices.  All grade levels are learning about healthy and safe relationships.  If any students have any late work to turn in, they should do so ASAP!  Happy Spring Everyone!

  • Mon. Feb. 26 - Fri. Mar. 2 Hard to believe, but the quarter is more than 1/2 way over!  6th graders are taking their tobacco quiz on Monday, and then kicking off their safety and first aid unit.  7th graders will be learning more about Body image unit, and then next week we will transition to our Alcohol Abuse unit.  8th grade is learning about Drug Abuse.  ALL STUDENTS WILL RECEIVE A VALUES CLARIFICATION PACKET THIS WEEK- WHICH WILL BE DUE ON OR BEFORE MARCH 16TH.  THIS 15-20 MINUTE ASSIGNMENT WILL REQUIRE PARENT INVOLVEMENT.

  • Feb. 19 - Friday, Feb. 23 I hope everyone had a nice 4 1/2 day weekend!  BIG GIANT REMINDER: INDEPENDENT ASSIGNMENTS ARE DUE THIS THURSDAY, FEB. 21ST!  You've had almost a month to complete them, so they should be done by now. :)  6th Graders are learning about Tobacco and Nicotine and Refusal Skills and they will take a quiz next week, 7th Graders are learning about Body Image and Weight Management, 8th Graders are learning CPR and will have a quiz on Thursday.

  • Mon. Feb. 5 - Fri. Feb. 9 We started our practice of Mindfulness this week on Monday!  Remember, there are many things you can do to practice mindfulness on your own.  See the Just for Fun Tab to find out more.  7th graders this week are finishing up their study of Social Emotional Health and will take a quiz on Thursday.  8th graders are finishing up their unit on Teen Depression and Suicide Prevention, and will take a quiz on their Block Day.  6th Graders are moving on to learning about Goal Setting.  By the end of the week, 6th graders will also need to be ready to demonstrate their "How to Use XYZ Piece of Strength Equipment"  to the class.

  • Mon. Jan. 29 - Fri. Feb. 2 Week 2 of the new quarter and we're rolling along with our first units.  7th Graders are learning about several strategies for getting along with others and being our best selves in our Social/Emotional health unit.  8th Graders are learning about Teen Depression and Suicide Prevention.  6th Graders are learning about the Triangle of Health and how to keep ourselves safe from harmful Germs.  All students will be learning about and practicing MINDFULNESS this year.  See my new Mindfulness page in the Just for Fun tab.
