ONLINE REGISTRATION IS AVAILABLE

 

All camps are being held on the St. Ambrose Campus. Specific locations will be sent to registrants. The schedule for the week will be 8:30 – 11:30 daily with snacks provided each day. (If you have concerns about allergies, please feel free to send snacks with your child.) Tuition for each child is $100.00 that includes use of materials, daily snacks, and an individual copy of the group anthology of writing.

Accessing Student Accounts

*PowerParent (student information, e-registration, grades, etc.)

Username: First initial of parent’s first name followed by last name in lowercase

Password: Set by parent upon initial login, or email powerparent@north-scott.k12.ia.us to reset 

*InTouch (pay fines, fees, lunch, etc.)

            Username: Student ID number

            Password: Student’s last name (capitalize first letter) 

*Total Access (check lunch balances) 

           Username: Student ID number

            Password: Student ID number 


How to access your child’s report card:

1.      Start at the North Scott Community School District homepage.

2.      Click on Power School, located on the far right of the screen.

3.      Click on Parents/Students.

4.      Enter your user name and password. If you have forgotten your user name and/or password, please e-mail michelle at michelle.connor@north-scott.k12.ia.us or you can call her at 563-285-3301.

5.      Once in Power School, the first screen is Grades and Attendance.

6.       THIS IS NOT WHERE YOU WILL FIND YOUR CHILD’S REPORT CARD.

7.      Scroll down the left hand column to Document Vault, and click on it.

8.      This will open a page with the heading Additional Features. Then click on the download button for Standards Report Card.

Note: If you have multiple students, you will see all the names listed at the top of the page. You will need to click on each child’s name to see their report card.

A big thank you to United Methodist Church of McCausland and Eldridge.  These two churches are donating a $5 book to each student at Virgil Grissom.  The students will be allowed to choose their free book from the book fair.  The book fair will be at Grissom from March 7th to March 11th.  

Thank you goes out to both of these churches for supporting the reading of Grissom students!

Congratulations to Grant Nimke in 6th grade!  He is our Virgil Grissom Geography Bee Winner!   Best wishes as you take the qualifying test for the State of Iowa Geography Bee Competition!  Congrats Grant!

Southern Wapsi Girls Softball League:
This year 1st grade girls will be able to sign up for the Southern Wapsi Girls Softball League. They
will play with the 2nd grade group. Please watch you school newsletter for sign up dates in you
town. We do not have sign ups at the same time as the boys baseball league.

5th & 6th Grade Oratorical Contest

NS Optimist club is sponsoring an oratorical contest for 5th and 6th Grade Students. The topic this year is "How my Best Brings out the Best in Others."

The contest is being held on Saturday, February 27th, with registration from 9:00-9:15, in the High School Media Center. A registration form has also been attached for your convenience.  On the day of the contest, the fifth and sixth graders will go first, with the junior and senior high students following. Awards will be presented at the end of the event.

This is a really exciting opportunity for students and is the first year the Optimist Club has opened it up for students in the elementary schools.

Yearbooks

It's that time of the year to order your yearbook!  Order forms are being sent home with students.  Y
ou may send a check to the office and make it payable to Virgil Grissom or you can order online through Intouch. (the same website you use to put lunch money on your child's account)  Yearbooks are $10 and orders are due on Friday, January 22nd.
