The Northern Humboldt Indian Education Program, Title VI, is a consortium of nine school districts that include Big Lagoon, Trinidad, McKinleyville Union, Fieldbrook, Blue Lake, Jacoby Creek, Arcata Elementary, Pacific Union and Northern Humboldt Union High School District.

Current Events:
There will be a Public Hearing and Parent Advisory Committee Meeting on Monday, May 7, 2018 at McKinleyville High School, 1300 Murray Road in McKinleyville at 5:30 p.m. in room 505.  All parents/guardians of American Indian/Alaska Native students enrolled in Trinidad, McKinleyville, Blue Lake, Pacific Union, Arcata, Big Lagoon, Jacoby Creek, Fieldbrook, and Northern Humboldt Union High School Districts and community members are invited to attend. The purpose of the hearing is to receive community input to the 2018-19 Title VI, Formula Grant application. For more information contact the Indian Education office at 839-6469. 

Past Events:
On Tuesday, March 20, 2018, a Culture/Activity Night was held at Potawot Health Village. Families enjoyed  a "Nacho Bar" provided by the McKinleyville High School Native American Club and members served as mentors. There were math and language arts games to play and take home, beading, pictures, a cupcake walk and storytelling by Lyn Risling.  Students also took home reading and activity books.

The "Swerve to Merv" Merv George Band dance was held at Blue Lake Casino on February 17, 2018. This is was a Northern Humboldt Indain Education Program Parent Advisory Committee fundraiser for scholarships and enrichment activities.
