On July 3, 2017, our beloved class guinea pig, Mr. Snuggles, passed away peacefully at Ms. Stapel's home, surrounded by her love and surrounded in the memory of the love he received from the 150+ classroom students over the past 6 years. Mr. Snuggles was a gentle and loving guinea pig who had a special personality that was endearing to faculty and students alike.  He was happiest when in the arms of children.  He adored sitting on anyone’s lap, being patted by 4-6 different hands at once, and nibbling at a buffet of fruits and vegetables offered to him, especially carrots.  He knew instinctively when it was snack/lap time and would give out a "squeak" if Ms. Stapel's lessons ran over into that sacred time of day!  The custodial staff always held a special place in his heart, as they supplied him with devoted attention and extra treats! He was the inspiration of many stories, animal reports, and persuasive essays over the years, and he always listened eagerly to the happy classroom chattering of students.  For those who needed special love, he was a source of great comfort, affection, and patience.  He was a truly special pet who was loved by all and will be missed dearly.

We love you, Mr. Snuggles.

I find television very educating.  Every time somebody turns on the set, I go into the other room and read a book.
