Welcome to Ms. Goldstein's 8th Grade ELA

Welcome to Stinson! My goal in Language Arts (ELA) is to help your child learn to love to read and write. This is my 17th year of teaching.  I graduated from the University of Oklahoma with a B.A. in Journalism/Public Relations. I earned my teaching certification at UTSA.

This school year, I will be teaching 8th Academic and  Pre-AP ELA. Your child will keep a writers’ notebook, which they will write in daily. Just to list a few things on our 8th grade agenda, we will write a personal narrative, a persuasive paper, a short story, a literary analysis paper, and complete benchmarks . We will do novel studies on the books, Nothing but the Truth and The Diary of Anne Frank. Winding up the year, we will do a study of drama and poetry.

I believe that your child will have a very unique experience with ELA this year.

Please use the tabs at the top or side to get more information.  To get to my lesson plans, please go to the top bar labeled 8th grade Pre-AP ELA lesson plans. Please feel free to e-mail me with any questions.  Thank you!
