About me

Throughout my career, I have taken every opportunity to learn and grow, so that my students can benefit from my experiences.  To date, I have acquired a very broad scope of classroom experience that extends from elementary, to university, to a research assistant; investigating the Spanish of San Antonio. Furthermore, this experience has taken place in schools and communities in rural, suburban and urban settings.  Even though my education specializes in Spanish linguistics, literature and culture, it also includes a concentration in foreign language teaching.  My experience, I believe is both a testament to a strong commitment to learning my craft, and also demonstrates my fervent belief that languages are a vital part of a complete education.

Through the years, I have taken on many leadership roles, in addition to that of a classroom teacher, all of which have developed my leadership skills and my character.  Over the past 20 years of teaching, I have accepted numerous sponsor positions, represented campus committees, lead language departments, organized events, and even taken students out of the country to experience the Spanish Culture. In addition to my leadership experience, I have also received leadership training through the Peer Assistance Leadership Program, Secondary Leader College, and Region 20’s Leadership Training Program for Administrators.
