Becoming a Member

Eager to become an NJHS member? We don't blame you! Below, you'll find the information you need to set you on the right track for joining this prestigious community.
Sixth and Seventh graders with a qualifying GPA (90% cumulative for the first semester) will receive an invitation to join the National Junior Honor Society in the month of February.
Students must then fill out a Student Activity Information packet which includes:
* 12 hours of community service signed by a supervisor and completed that school year
*  leadership positions held
* student activities such as band, student council, etc.
* other community activities such as religious groups, Boy or Girl Scouts, etc.
* Awards and recognitions
* 3 essay questions on the pillars of NJHS
* 3 teacher recommendation forms 
All information must be turned into the Chapter Advisor (6th grade applicants turn in to Ms. Richardson (C234) and 7th grade applicants turn in to Mrs. Jordan (C133)) no later than Monday, March 26th.  (NO EXCEPTIONS WILL BE MADE)
The selection of each member to the chapter shall be by a majority vote of the Faculty Council. Prior to notification of any candidates, the chapter advisor shall review with the principal the results of the Faculty Council’s deliberations.

  • list of important dates - The Induction Ceremony location has changed due to the number of inductees this year!  It will take place in the auditorium at Brandeis High School.  It is still May 7th, at 6:00 PM.
