Colonel (retired) Gerard G. Couvillion is Clark High School’s AFJROTC Senior Aerospace Science Instructor.  He is responsible for leading, managing, and implementing the overall JROTC unit program according to national, state, and district standards. Colonel Couvillion works with other assigned instructors in promoting cadet intellectual, social, patriotic, character education, and physical growth.  Colonel Couvillion is responsible for managing and implementing the military service's national education curriculum and program requirements to include the preparation, planning, coordination, and supervision of all co-curricular service learning, special activities or events (military ball, annual awards ceremony, blood drive, drill meets, color guards, PT and model rocketry meets).

Colonel Couvillion entered the Air Force in 1986 as a distinguished graduate of the Air Force Reserve Officer Training Program at Southwest Texas State University in San Marcos,TX. Prior to becoming a career manpower and personnel officer in 1991, Colonel Couvillion was a nuclear missile combat crew member for three years. His wing-level assignments include tours in personnel adjudication and classification for Basic Military Training, Military Personnel Flight Chief, Mission Support Squadron Commander, and Expeditionary Support Squadron Commander in Iraq. His staff tours include HQ Pacific Air Forces, the Air Force Personnel Center, 16th Air Force, and the Joint Staff.
